Malaria is a very common illness in Nigeria and it is somewhat of a tropical issue as it comes from mosquitoes which grow rapidly in this climate.
Mosquitoes feed on blood and in the process transfer plasmodium which fights against the body's immune system to cause malaria. It does not always cause malaria if the body is succeeful in flushing it out but in some cases a person falls ill to malaria.

How often do you have malaria in a year and how do you treat it?

I hardly have malaria nowadays. I think the body has its own immune system and as long as you eat good food, exercise and have enough rest, you would hardly get malaria. Also I frequently take tablets periodically like every 3 months. The drug I use is P-Alaxin or Artesunate.
